Beautiful heirloom quality and vintage-looking rosary that celebrates Saint Mary Magdalene is a beautiful gift to that special unique qomen in your life!
This rosary is designed with stunning cast bronze medals in the saints' likeness. The rosary center design is a tribute to her statute at the Grotto of Saint Mary Magdalene in Provence, France. The crucifix, called "The Two Marys" depicts Our Lady with Mary Magdalene at the base of the crucifix. The side medal also depicts her in profile with her alabaster jar of annoiting oil. These medals are paired with gemstones, the colors of which, are associated with Saint Mary Magdalene; citrine and green-red bloodstone semi-precious beads. The rosary loop is 28" and can easily be worn as a long necklace. Stretched straight, end to end, it is 23"
Mary Magdalene was historically associated with the colors of with her red, green and yellow-gold in the garments in which she was depicted, similar to the painting of Mary Magdalene by Piero di Cosimo in the 1400s. She is also often symbolized with an alabaster jar of annoiting oil and sometimes with a book, representing her spiritual wisdom. Here's a couple links to links from my research:
